Able Coffee Group
Founded in 2009, Able Coffee Group is working toward becoming a globally influential coffee company.
A leading coffee company is, first and foremost, one that fully understands and internalizes the entire coffee value chain, and on that foundation delivers outstanding coffee products and coffee experiences. Creativity in the spaces where coffee is enjoyed, and expertise in complementary offerings such as bakery items, are also areas that require continuous refinement. Building on these capabilities, Able Coffee Group aims to become a role model for sustainable coffee companies, both in Korea and around the world.
Able Coffee Group directly operates eight locations across Korea and Malaysia, including its coffee brand Bean Brothers, croissant specialty brand Loassant, Café Gyeol in Insadong, and the multicultural space Cosmo40. The company also maintains a steady B2B business supplying coffee to around 400 coffee partners, as well as a D2C business delivering fresh coffee products to hundreds of home brewers every day.

Barista Hiring FAQ
Is prior coffee experience required?
Experience is not a major factor for new hires. Many people at Bean Brothers come from fields entirely unrelated to coffee, and many are handling an espresso machine for the first time. We don't measure experience simply by how long someone has worked behind a bar. If your colleagues find value in working alongside you and see something to learn from you, that is the truest form of "experience" — more meaningful than just having started earlier. Our barista team places importance on five areas: professionalism, management, leadership, teamwork, and communication. Of these, only "professionalism" relates directly to coffee expertise. From the team's perspective on coffee, someone who can grow and stay with the team long-term is far more valuable.
What kind of person are we looking for?
A Bean Brothers barista isn't confined to bar work — they design and deliver a range of coffee-related experiences. Based on their individual coffee expertise, they essentially serve as the bridge between the customer and the coffee. This requires someone willing to devote significant time and energy (more than you might expect) to understanding customers and studying coffee.Bean Brothers pursues coffee built on team capability, not reliance on a few highly skilled individuals. Our internal peer evaluations are also based on the same five areas — and aside from professionalism, the remaining four (roughly 80%) are team-related criteria, reflecting just how highly we value the team.
To repeat: we think in terms of the team, and we're looking for people who can genuinely resonate with the direction the team is heading. Age, gender, and educational background have no bearing on our hiring criteria.
Once hired, you'll engage in extensive thinking, speaking, and writing activities that go well beyond studying coffee itself — all aimed at building the ability to communicate openly with others about the team's direction. We're looking for someone who can use the team as a mirror for constant self-reflection, and who is willing to build the habits and methods for that kind of introspection.
How can I stand out?
Show us your own perspective on coffee — its depth, and how much weight and conviction you bring to your application to Bean Brothers. Many applicants find the open-format application difficult. Rather than aiming for something grand, we'd love to hear your story told honestly and in your own words. Some people come to Bean Brothers thinking of it as a kind of coffee education institute. We're glad if our training system feels like a school in some ways — but we are, first and foremost, a company. We'd love for you to clearly express your willingness to contribute to one another.
