This is the seventh decaffeinated coffee introduced by Bean Brothers. Those who are keen on the subject may have thought that the flavors of the seven decaffeinated coffees introduced so far are not very different, and that is indeed the case. They are all coffees that have been decaffeinated using the Mountain Water Process from Central and South America. They could have introduced decaffeinated coffees with different flavors, but why did they make this choice?

Decaffeinated coffee occupies a unique position in Bean Brothersā€™ coffee lineup. It has the properties of both blends and single origins. All the decaffeinated coffees introduced so far were ā€˜single originsā€™ produced in one country, but to customers, they were consumed like ā€˜blendsā€™ like Black Suit or Malt. Just like the regular customers of the Hapjeong store who always look for malt, there were quite a few people who drank BBā€™s coffee mainly as decaffeinated coffees. This is why the Bean Brothers team tried to maintain a consistent flavor when selecting decaffeinated coffees. We wanted to find coffees that are comfortable to drink for those who drink decaffeinated coffee every day, and also have a good flavor for those who drink decaffeinated coffee occasionally in the evening.

For decaffeinated lovers, I also occasionally want to introduce a unique limited edition decaffeinated coffee. I look forward to the day when there will be many unique decaffeinated coffees.

What is the best consumed date for coffee beans? Are your coffee beans freshly-roasted?

We recommend 7-21 days after the initial roasting date to allow for degassing to take place,Ā allowing the flavour of the coffee compoundsĀ to be properly extracted. Within the first seven days, roasted coffee beans are still releasing carbon dioxide and degassing. If not degassed properly, itĀ will hinder the extraction of ground coffee particles during the brewing process.

What are the differences between Single Origins and Blends?

Single origin beans are harvested from a single producer, crop, or region, usually delivering a taste profile that is unique to its origins. Blends are a mixture of a few single origin beans, producing aĀ rich and expressive flavor profile.

How do I choose coffee that is suitable for me?

Find the right tasting notes. These are often identified by our barista during cupping sessions. Some coffee are more floral and fruity while some are more chocolaty and nutty.Ā As you drink moreĀ coffee, you will figure out which notes you would like the most.

Which grind size should I choose for my brewing method?
