Ethiopia Tigist Abyot

BLUEBERRIES, VIOLETS, APRICOTS

This is a lightly roasted Ethiopian natural coffee with a subtle style that brings to mind a delicate apricot rather than a flashy one. It evokes the impression of a purple flower resembling a violet blooming among low grass by the roadside—a beauty that becomes clearer the closer you get—combined with a fresh sensation.

The fruit syrup-like texture and the aroma of dried blueberries make it feel just like drinking blueberry iced tea. By the time the last sip goes down, it feels like having a large slice of rye bread packed with raisins, naturally bringing to mind a small bakery and a cup of coffee stopped by during a light stroll.

RARE SINGLE-FARM ETHIOPIAN COFFEE

You have probably rarely seen a single farm or single producer in Ethiopian coffee. Most are very small-scale producers, typically single households, who harvest the coffee cherries and sell them to factories. It is common practice to collect them and process them all at once.

Tigist Abyot Veraso is a female producer who embarked on her journey in coffee production after receiving a small 2-hectare coffee plantation as a wedding gift. Currently, production has surged, expanding the size of her farm by nearly four times. She has obtained export licenses to the global market and is receiving favorable reviews, having achieved the highest cupping scores in a small-scale farm project by a coffee exporter.
