Guatemalan Atitlan Tinamit is the coffee that many team members selected as the best coffee of the year out of 50 single origins introduced by Bean Brothers last year. The sample that arrived this year also had the same flavor that the team liked last year, so we were happy to purchase it.
Atitlan Tinamit is a savory Guatemalan coffee, but it is also a coffee with a delicate and sweet flavor that would goes beyond simple categorization. It also has a pleasant acidity that makes the coffee taste delicious. What we were particularly impressed with was that this coffee had an attractive flavor at any roast degree. Light roasting allows you to feel the natural soft nutty flavor of coffee, and increasing the roasting level to medium allows you to enjoy crisp nut notes and full sweetness. No matter how you roast it, it turns out to be good coffee, just different - a great pleasure for a roaster.
Lake Atitlan overlooked from the place where this coffee is grown is a caldera lake like the heavens of Mt. Baekdu. It is a lake formed by the collapse of the central part of a volcano and then pooling water there. Because it is a very large lake, up close it feels just like the sea, and it is said that you have to climb about 2,000 meters above sea level where coffee is grown to see the view of the lake. There is no right to say that the coffee grown there is delicious just because the scenery is beautiful, but drinking coffee while looking at the scenery of Lake Atitlan would feel absolutely amazing.
